Catering for hockey and school teams
By Penalty Box Bar & Grill ·

Start with people, then choose the food
Putting together food for a hockey or school team usually means one person is keeping track of a lot of answers. Before you choose a package, get a head count and ask what the group wants to eat. It’s a simple step, but it keeps the plan grounded in the people you’re feeding instead of somebody’s best guess.
At Penalty Box Bar & Grill, the starting details are straightforward. We’re at 17 Eastgate Plaza, East Alton, IL 62024, and you can call (618) 216-2346. Tell us you’re planning food for a team, share the number of people, and explain whether you’re considering a food order, event space, or larger catering. Those are separate questions worth talking through.
Compare the approved package options
The Power Play Pack is $89.99 and feeds 10. It includes 3 specialty pizzas + two 12-wing orders. The Hat Trick Pack is $179.99 and feeds 20. The Variety Pizza Package is $74.99. Start with those names and prices when discussing the order, and check the catering page rather than making assumptions about additional package contents.
For wings, the tray sizes are 25 for $34.99, 50 for $69.99, and 100 for $139.99. Keep the count next to the price in your notes. It’s much easier for a second organizer to understand “50 wings for $69.99” than a message that only says somebody has handled the wings.
Separate the order from the gathering
Food and a place to gather are related, but they’re not the same decision. Event space is available at Penalty Box. If you want to bring the team together, call to discuss your plans rather than assuming the food order also confirms space. That keeps everybody working from the same information before invitations go out.
For larger catering, go to 618cater.com. Bring the same useful details with you: head count, preferred food, and the kind of gathering you’re arranging. You don’t need to invent a detailed plan before asking questions. A clear starting point is enough to make the next conversation more useful.
Check the day and finish the plan
Our hours are Sunday 11am–10pm, Monday 4–9:30pm, Tuesday and Wednesday 11am–9:30pm, Thursday 11am–10:30pm, Friday 11am–11pm, and Saturday 11:30am–11pm. Use the hours for the actual day you’re considering. A Saturday plan starts with an 11:30am opening; a Monday plan starts with a 4pm opening.
Before you finish, put the address, chosen food, and next action in one message for the people helping you. Browse the menu and Game Day Bundles, call Penalty Box to discuss the gathering, or use online ordering for your food order. For larger catering, use 618cater.com. The goal isn’t a complicated checklist; it’s making sure the person responsible for the food knows what has actually been decided.
